Just 90 miles north of St. Louis/St. Charles and 30 miles south of Quincy, 90 miles west of Springfield IL, Hog Slough  is in Pike County, Illinois. Hog Slough is located nest to the Mississippi River (mm 295) close to New Canton, Illinois and Cincinnati Landing.

 In New Canton, Illinois take Mississippi Street west at the tire shop (County Road 230) 4 miles until it dead ends at county road 220. Go right 1.8 miles on county road 220, cross the Sny bridge and enter Hog Slough on the left at the corner of County Roads 220 and 210.
